Ryan
Ryan is one of our alumni coaches, a face some of you may recognize more from previous years. Ryan's hands on coaching time has been limited over the past few seasons due to other commitments, but he still makes it out to some classes whenever his schedule permits. Ryan started playing hockey at age 7 and has been playing ever since. He is a former student of Edges, began teaching power skating at the age of 15 and has been coaching for the last 18 years (yes that make him 33 years old). He has also coached minor hockey for the Northwest Zone midget program.
Away from the rink Ryan and his wife Wanda are kept busy with their three children, Shelby 8, Mason 6 and Payton 5. Ryan is enjoying his career as a firefighter with the City of Edmonton, and we at Edges are enjoying it too as it makes him more available to come out the teach!! Ryan has been one of the recipients of the "Iron Man Award" for playing the entire 24 hours every year and hopes to make this year number nine!
